Our History

The early 2000s were a tough time for Phoenician cigar and cocktail aficionados. You had to choose what to indulge in: enjoy a cigar in a smoke shop or a cocktail at a bar. Our mission was simple: create the premier location to enjoy cigars while imbibing in your drink of choice.

We started out conservatively, setting up a small bar in the corner of our smoke shop in 2005. Our theory was quickly proven right as patrons flocked to the newfound cornerstone of the cigar and cocktail culture in Phoenix. In 2006, when Arizona voters passed the smoking ban, our mission faced a grim future. We decided to fight the change because over 50.1% of our sales were tobacco sales. We lost the initial battle in Maricopa County Superior Court, but we were able to succeed with the Arizona Court of Appeals. The Arizona Supreme Court later upheld that appeal and, after two years of battling the legal system, we were back on track to seeing our mission fulfilled. Our contributions paved the way for other cigar bars that followed suit throughout the Phoenix area.

Today, we have a large bar with expert bartenders who can guide you through your whiskey, cocktail, or beer experience, as well as a 450 square-foot-humidor with a 1,000+ cigar selection, a large retail liquor selection, and a private lounge exclusively for members.
